COVID-19 TRANSPORTATION PROCEDURES

During these uncertain times, Freedom Transit continues to be committed to providing a clean and safe environment for all of our guests and employees. In response to the ever changing numbers of COVID-19 Positive cases, we have increased our sanitation and implemented additional Personal Protective Equipment usage. See below for additional information.

General

In order to protect our drivers and our guests, we have set COVID-19 procedure requirements. We have dedicated vans and drivers available specifically to transport COVID-19 Positive guests. We take great care in transporting those who have tested positive for COVID-19. We have barriers in our vans between the driver and our guest. We ensure that the airflow is moving from the front of the van out through the back vented windows. We sanitize between each guest and ensure that drivers and guests are wearing gloves, masks, and gowns.

Self-Diagnosis

If any of these symptoms are present prior to reporting to the office the employee is to stay home. If any of these become present during the shift, the employee is sent home immediately.

Fever or chills
Cough
Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
Fatigue
Muscle or body aches
Headache
New loss of taste or smell
Sore throat
Congestion or runny nose
Nausea or vomiting
Diarrhea

Upon arrival to the office employees are required to take their temperature and document their time sheet.

Sanitation Procedures

– Drivers required to wear gloves when working with every patient

– Driver required to wash hands with soap and warm water for at least 20 seconds each time whenever possible between patient transport and several times during the shift

– Driver required to use hand sanitizer of at least 60% alcohol base, before and after working with each patient

– Driver required to use EPA disinfecting product (Oxivir TB and/or Lysol or Bleach Based wipes) to wipe down interior and exterior door handles, all levers/knobs, steering wheel, patient transportation area and wheelchair/van seat/stretcher after working with each patient
